Day 10 at Kogakuin
Updated: May 30, 2023
Today was the last school day until Golden Week break, which is a week long celebration. Getting up at 5 am every day was getting really tiring for me, so I rode school bus 2 (the one that departs later) with Jake and my other classmates. I was able to sleep in a little bit more and I had fun talking to people I don't usually see in the morning, so I started the day off great. I had General Paper first period, and we ended our discussion about the death penalty and started a new one about the jury system in Japan. General Paper reminds me of the style of classes I have at my own school, and it's very discussion based which is why it's my favorite. Next period, I had PE, and I decided to do the shuttle run along with my friends. The shuttle run is like the Fitnessgram Pacer Test in America where we have to run as many 20 meter laps as we can in the given time. It was harder than I thought because the time I had for each lap would get shorter and shorter. I ended up doing 70 laps in total. The rest of my classes were fine, and they were the same as usual. For the first time today, I went to an afterschool English classed called F1, which prepares the students to take a standardized English test. I helped two of my classmates with the classwork and taught them English. One of the classmates I helped, I had never really talked to before, and we were able to become friends, which made me happy. After F1, I went to the band club and practiced drums with my friend for an hour. I feel like I was able to integrate myself into Kogakuin really well and I really like the dynamic of the class I'm in.
👍
Keep playing those drums!
