Golden Week Day 1 (Harajuku!)
Updated: May 30, 2023
Today is Saturday, but I didn't have school because of Golden Week. Other schools are still in session today, but at Kogakuin we have the day off today, so I went to Harajuku with my friends. First, we went to Takeshita street, where there are a lot of clothing stores and food stores. There were many things such as cotton candy, candied strawberries, crepes, and much more! I went to Takeshita street last summer with my best friend and tried the cotton candy, so this time I really wanted to try the famous crepes. There were a lot of options such as a pizza crepe and potato gratin crepe (which are a mystery to me), but I ended up getting the banana, custard cream, gelato, whip cream crepe. It was really good, but it was also very sweet. I liked it much better than the cotton candy I had last time. I also ate a Korean kebab that consisted of tteokbokki and sausage, and it was so delicious. I wish I could go back tomorrow and eat it again. After we spent time at Takeshita street looking around at stores, eating, and taking lots of pictures, my friends and I went to a couple thrift shops and vintage stores to buy some clothes. I found a sweater and a pair of jeans I really liked. Thrifting isn't as popular in Japan as it is in America, which is why one of my friends wasn't familiar with what it was. After we thrifted, we went to a Sanrio shop where I bought souvenirs for my friends back in America. I walked a lot today, and it was very crowded and tiring, so I feel like I can go straight to sleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

Such a great time of the year. So much to do and enjoy.
