Day 4 at school!
Updated: May 30, 2023
Today was a very eventful day at school. I had General Paper class first period. I had no clue what General Paper was, but after taking it, I would say that it was like English class. We read a passage and discussed it. The passage we read for that day was about the death penalty, and we had a debate whether it should be abolished or not. I was very surprised that many of the students were reluctant to share their opinions to the rest of the class. Because Jake and I were on opposing sides during the debate, most of the class was just the two of us having a conversation while the rest of the class listened in. Some kids did share their opinions and it was really interesting to hear their points of view. After that class, I had PE. We were doing a fitness test, so the teacher timed my 50 meter dash and measured how far I can throw a softball. Because I'm on the track team at school, I did the dash pretty easily, but I struggled with the throwing. I also had a Civics class, and it was basically the same as my economics class at school. We discussed different types of economies, and I understood it well because I learned that in the beginning of the year in my school. Many of my other classmates started warming up to me, not just the girls, so it made me really happy. I had fun at the classes and talking to my classmates, but I was most excited to go to the band club after school. I went with one of my friends who's a drummer. My classmates in my band class at my school want me to play drums at our concert, and the drums are not my main instrument, so during the club, my friend helped me learn the drum beat. The club was around 2 hours long, but it went by really quickly because I was having so much fun. I'm going to try to go every day next week because I want to work really hard for my classmates back in America. I'm also very glad I got a chance to talk to other kids who aren't in my class, and I felt like I got to get to know my classmate a lot better.
I'm glad to hear that you are getting more familiar with the students and interacting more with each passing day.
