Today, I went to Asakusa with Jake and our friend in our class. Our friend and I both love cats a lot so we made plans to go to a cat cafe! First, we met up at Asakusa station and we went to eat lunch together. We had Indian curry, and it was very different from the Japanese curry I've been eating. They served the curry sauce and the rice separately which surprised me because usually the two are served together on the same plate. Curry is my favorite food, so I still enjoyed eating it regardless. Then, we went to the cat cafe, which ended up being in someone's house. That was also really surprising because the cat cafes I've been to have been actual cafes and not in someone's apartment. The cats were all rescues, and surprisingly they were very active and playful. We stayed there for an hour. Afterwards, the three of us walked to Kaminarimon, which is a shrine of the God of thunder. We prayed to the God, and drew fortunes. I already drew a fortune during the hiking trip at Mount Takao, but I wanted to draw another one. I got the same result, which was "regular luck." Then, we went around the shops near the temple and ate desserts. I had a Melon bread, Daifuku with ice cream inside, and Jake had a crepe. We also played a shooting game, where you try to hit the prizes down by shooting at it with a fake gun that shoots out cork. We didn't win anything, but apparently Jake won chopsticks the day before. Finally, we went to a Japanese store called Don Quijote, which is sort of like a Target. We explored all four floors, and we bought curry flavored Pringles because it was very intriguing. We did a lot of walking today, so we were very tired by the time we went home.
